Your online store provides you with the ability to setup shipping rates and settings in order to facilitate order shipping and fulfillment while accounting for shipping fees and options. This can be a simple setup with one fixed shipping rate across all products for specific countries, or a comprehensive and detailed setup with rules related to size and weight.
The following guide will guide you through the steps to setup your shipping rates and settings for the online store.

Preparing Products for Shipping
The first step is to ensure that your products contain the required information for them to be available for shipping and handling their shipping fees accordingly.
1. From the merchant dashboard, go to Catalog then Products
2. Click on the product to edit its settings
3. Scroll down to the Inventory and Shipping Information section, click the arrow to expand it
4. In the Inventory and Shipping Information section, you can enter:
- Country of Origin (Optional, can be utilized by some shipping integrations)
- SKU (Mandatory for delivery or shipping integrations, good practice to add it)
- Dimensions (Mandatory): Length - Width - Height and Length Unit (Inch - Centimeter - Millimeter)
- Weight (Mandatory): Weight value and Unit (Kilogram - Gram - Pound - Ounce)
- Handling Fees: In special cases, some products require extra or additional handling fees to account for their shipping like fragile products or products that require refrigeration)
For the Handling Fees settings, you can enter the Additional Handling Fee and choose how to display its value in the checkout page:
- Include in Shipping Fee: Merge both the main shipping fee and the additional handling fee in one amount
- Display as a Separate Fee: Display the main shipping fee and the additional handling fee separately
If the "Display as a Separate Fee" option is chosen, this will reflect on checkout:

5. Click "Save" to save your product settings and product shipping settings
Shipping Rates and Settings
Next, we will setup the Shipping Rates and Settings for your desired countries and with different complexity levels:
1. From the merchant dashboard, go to Store
2. Click Settings
3. Click "Delivery and Shipping"
4. Click "Delivery"
5. Turn on the toggle for the "International" region to configure the shipping settings
6. Click "Select Delivery Option" for the International region
7. In the International region page, you can choose to:
- Add Country: To configure the shipping rates and settings for different countries and regions
- Integration with Delivery Services: To go to the apps page where you can activate integrations with delivery and shipping companies
8. Click Add Country: To configure the shipping rates and settings for different countries and regions
9. In the "Add Country" page, the first step is: Select Country from the dropdown list
10. After adding the country, click its name to show its regions
11. Click on the region to show its areas
12. Click the checkboxes for areas to select them and configure the shipping rates and settings for them
13. Next, you can configure the Minimum Order Value. This is the required cart amount at checkout for the order to be valid for shipping. (Leave this "0" Zero if you do not require it)
14. Next, you can configure the Additional Shipping Fee. Use this feature to add an additional fee to the calculated shipping rate based on your upcoming rules.
15. Under the Shipping Rate Calculations section, you will add the Default Rate. This rate is the rate that will be used if the cart does not fall under any shipping rates and settings rules.
16. Next, choose the Shipping Rate Calculation Type baed on the below:
- Per product without quantity: Calculate the shipping rate for each unique product in the cart. But: Each product's quantity does not count.
- Per product with quantity: Calculate the shipping rate for each unique product in the cart. And: Multiply each product's rate with its quantity.
- Highest Rate: The shipping rate will be the highest rate calculated in the cart.
- Highest Rate with quantity: The shipping rate will be the highest rate calculated in the cart multiplied by its quantity.
Examples for Shipping Rate Calculation Types
In the cart:
- Product A: Shipping Rate = 5 KWD | Quantity: 2
- Product B: Shipping Rate = 8 KWD | Quantity: 3
Calculation Type | How it Works | Example Calculation | Final Shipping Rate |
Per product without quantity | Count each product once, ignore quantity. | Product A = 5 KWD + Product B = 8 KWD | 13 KWD |

Shipping Rates and Settings Types
Option 1: Simple Flat Rate
If you want to setup your shipping rates to be flat and simple for all products, you will:
- Setup your products shipping settings
- Add the default rate
- Choose your Shipping Rate Calculation Type (In this case, per product and highest rate will act the same given that all rates are equal to the Default Rate)
- Optional: Add the Minimum Order Value and Additional Shipping Fee
Option 2: Comprehensive Rule-Based Rates
If your shipping rates depend on size and dimensions or offer different shipping options based on the speed, then you will:
- Setup your products shipping settings
- Add the default rate (This is the fall-back rate for products that the rules we will setup don't apply on)
- Choose your Shipping Rate Calculation Type
- Per product without quantity: Calculate the shipping rate for each unique product in the cart. But: Each product's quantity does not count.
- Per product with quantity: Calculate the shipping rate for each unique product in the cart. And: Multiply each product's rate with its quantity.
- Highest Rate: The shipping rate will be the highest rate calculated in the cart.
- Highest Rate with quantity: The shipping rate will be the highest rate calculated in the cart multiplied by its quantity.
Examples for Shipping Rate Calculation Types
In the cart: - Product A: Shipping Rate = 5 KWD | Quantity: 2
- Product B: Shipping Rate = 8 KWD | Quantity: 3

- Add your shipping rates rules by clicking "Add Rule"
- In the "Add Rule" window, add the following:
- Rule Name in English and Arabic
- Rate Value for this Rule
- Rule Name in English and Arabic
- Expand the "Package Dimensions and Weight" section and add your rules for the weight and dimension. Products that fall within the rules you have defined get the shipping rate you have setup applied
- Expand the "Shipping Time" section to add your minimum and maximum delivery time
- Click "Done" to save your rule
- The rule you have added will appear under the "Shipping Rate Calculations" section with a summary of its details shown
- Keep adding more rules to cover your different shipping options and offerings
- Optional: Add the Minimum Order Value and Additional Shipping Fee
Excluding Products from Shipping
There are cases when you want to exclude products from shipping to specific countries or regions, in that case, you can setup your exclusion settings under the "Exclude Products" section within the country or region you are configuring.
A warning will let you know if some of your products are missing the weight and dimensions details so that you know that they will be affected by the "Exclude Products" settings. Any products missing weight and dimensions details will be excluded by default.
You have a choice of how to handle excluded products from shipping:
- Display "Not Shippable to Your Region" Label: Allow the product to be displayed in the store but mark it with a label indicating it cannot be shipped.
- Hide the Product: Products with missing weight/dimensions will be hidden from the store or checkout page.

You can also specify products to be excluded from shipping to a particular region by adding them to the exclusion list:
Cart Preview: Test Your Shipping Setup
While configuring your shipping rates and settings, you can test your setup by using the Cart Preview function.
You can select and add products to a virtual cart to see the effects of your settings on the shipping rates
